Award-winning in several national and international competitions, among the others the “Concours International d’Exécution Musicale (CIEM)” in Geneva (1995), Luigi Attademo was pupil of the guitarist-composer Angelo Gilardino. He has been invited as a guest in several festivals and he has given the ﬁrst performance of many contemporary works of important composers, like Angelo Gilardino, Alvaro Company, Dusan Bogdanovic, Alessandro Solbiati, Giorgio Gaslini, Michele Tadini, Soﬁa Gubaidulina and others. Among his teachers, Julius Kalmar (conduction), composers as Giovanni Guanti, Alessandro Solbiati, and the harpsichord player Emilia Fadini (Baroque music). Graduate in Philosophy with a dissertation on the musical interpretation, he published a book about this subject. He has been contributor to several specialized magazines, like the Italians “Giornale della Musica” “Seicorde” “il Fronimo”, the Spanish guitar magazine “Roseta" and “Soundboard” (USA)
He worked in the Archive of the Andrés Segovia’s Foundation (Linares-Spain), to catalogue its manuscripts (catalogue published on the Spanish musicological magazine "The Roseta"), and he discovered some unknown manuscripts of important composers, such as Jaume Pahissa, Alexandre Tansman, Gaspar Cassadò and others, after published by A. Gilardino in the Segovia Archive Collection (Berben Edition).
He gave concerts in Europe, Australia, Argentina, USA, India, Korea, ecc. performing Italian music and chamber music; in 2011 he played around the world (New York, Wien, London, Warsaw, Guitar Foundation of America, etc.) a new program on Paganini’s music and Italian contemporary works, written speciﬁcally for him, which have been published by the Sinfonica Editions in 2013 (a book and a CD).
He recorded several CDs, from Baroque music to Segovia Repertoire. In the 2007, the American magazine “Guitar Review” dedicated him an interview and a CD with his recent recordings. After the cd dedicated to Scarlatti's Sonatas (Brilliant, 2009), he recorded a double cd dedicated to Bach music for lute, published by Brilliant Classics (2011).
He recorded the complete works for guitar solo by Niccolò Paganini, released by Brilliant Classics in 2013, on an original guitar from that period (Gaetano Guadagnini, 1851).
In 2014 the Italian magazine Amadeus dedicated him the cover and published his CD on Fernando Sor Masterworks, also played on original instrument (Lacôte 1830).
During these years he started to play with the violist Simone Gramaglia (viola of the Quartetto di Cremona) and he published with him a new CD dedicated to Paganini music for guitar and viola (Brilliant, 2015); in the same year, he dedicate a programme to Boccherini Quintets, playing with Quartetto di Cremona and Cuarteto Casals (at the prestigious Haydnsaal in Eisenstadt).
In that year he realized also a project - with the support by the Ernst Von Siemens Foundation - dedicated to Hans Werner Henze music and his masterwork El Cimarrón.
In 2016 he was the ﬁrst performer of the Alessando Solbiati’s new work for guitar and 15 instruments, that he has recorded last year in Kiev with Ukho Ensemble.
In the same year he has released a new Cd devoted to 19th century repertoire played on original instruments, using six different historical guitars. In 2017 he worked to a project dedicated to Antonio Torres, and he is giving many concerts playing original guitars by this famous guitar-maker. He is also the curator of the Exhibition dedicated to Torres by the Museo del Violino in Cremona. During 2018 he devoted many concerts, lectures and articles to Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo- Tedesco, of which he played in New York (to celebrate his death’s anniversary) the Divan of Moses-ibn-Esra (May 2018), and in Mantova the Quintet for guitar and strings with the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova Quartet, and the Fantasia for guitar and piano with Alexander Lonquich (June 2018). In 2019 he started to play in duo with the Finlandese cellist Martti Rousi and with the Italian pianist Roberto Prosseda.
He teaches at Conservatorio A.Steffani in Castelfranco Veneto. He is often invited as expert at the Geneva HEM, and from 2010, he is regularly invited to give lecture/recitals at Royal Academy of Music of London. He has been also juror in many international competitions (Pittaluga, Mottola, Guitar Foundation…).
